FRESHMAN BAND 
660	1 Credit
Freshman Band is open to all ninth-grade students who have achieved an adequate proficiency on a band instrument.  This ensemble performs several times a year.

CONCERT BAND 
661	1 Credit
Concert Band is open to all students in grades 10-12 who have achieved an adequate proficiency on a band instrument.  This ensemble performs several times a year.

WIND ENSEMBLE
665	1 Credit
The most select of the school’s three concert bands.  This group performs mostly NYSSMA Level 6 literature.  Open to exceptionally talented musicians by audition.

FRESHMAN CHORUS

Freshman Chorus is open to ninth-grade students who have achieved and adequate proficiency on voice.  This ensemble performs several times a year.
 
CHORUS 10-12
1 Credit 
Chorus 10-12 is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors who have achieved adequate proficiency on voice.  This ensemble performs several times a year.

The most select of the school’s three choruses.  This group performs mostly NYSSMA Level 6 literature.  Open to exceptionally talented musicians by audition.

PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA

Philharmonia Orchestra is open to students in grades 9-12 who have achieved and adequate proficiency on a string instrument.  This ensemble performs several times a year.

SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

The most select of the school’s two orchestras.  This group performs mostly NYSSMA Level 6 literature.  Open to exceptionally talented musicians by audition.

MUSIC LESSONS
650	.25 Credit
Students are enrolled concurrently with a performing band or orchestra class.  Instruction is given in a group setting.

COMPREHENSIVE MUSICIANSHIP
658	1 Credit
The essentials of musical notation, theory and history will be explored using the guitar as a performance tool.  All styles of music will be covered including popular, rock, jazz and classical music.  This class Meets the 1 credit of fine arts required for a Regents diploma.

AP MUSIC THEORY   
656	1 Credit
This class will prepare students to take the required Advanced Placement exam in the spring. Topics will include scales, chords, modes, ear training, sight singing, and four-part harmony.
Pre-requisite:  Permission of course instructor.	

*MUSIC THEORY
655	1 Credit
This class is an alternative to the AP Music Theory class.  For students who are not planning on taking the AP Exam in May, they can opt to take Music Theory to learn the curriculum without the pressure of being required to take the AP Exam.
