Spanish. This is an 90% overall average for all levels of the foreign
language. Student

Comprehensive Regents Exam in French/Italian/ or Spanish. No grade below 80% for a final exam or
average will be acceptable.
{If the student has been exempt from taking three
years study, due to native speaker status, his/her qualifications will be
examined by the department.}
5. Student should have displayed
academic integrity and a genuine
enthusiasm and effort
in his/her study of foreign language. (i.e. class
participation, travel, student tutoring, community service using knowledge of
the foreign language, foreign language club participation, etc.)
6. Each candidate must write a
brief paragraph in the target language, in
his/her
own words WITHOUT help. (No teachers, native speakers, peers,
computer
translators, etc.) The paragraph should explain why you feel
that
you qualify for membership to the French, Italian, or Spanish Honor
Societies. A student studying more than one foreign
language that qualifies

membership to more than one foreign language honor society must fill
out
separate applications for each society.
